Gothic Layering | Autumn Trends 2018.

London Fashion Week is officially over for AW18 and I’ll be honest, its the first time I’ve been excited in a while. I tend to take a step back and focus more on my own campaigns rather than run around between shows, but this was (possibly) my last season for a while. You might remember that the past few seasons, I’ve flitted in and out giving LFW a miss but I had to have one last go! Maybe in a future post I’ll talk about my love/hate relationship with it but for now.. enjoy a few trend focused posts showing you my favourites of the moment.

As its a new season (and a new chance to grow your wardrobe) it seemed like a great time to focus on current fashion trends and share some of my faves with you. The first trend had to be gothic chic, perfectly timeless for AW. I tend to focus on contrasting soft and heavy fabrics year round but the addition of velvets and vinyl in the autumn gives such a gothic edge that I can’t resist. Tell me someone else also turns a little more grunge for the colder weather too?!

This outfit is focused around this velvet and lace dress from French Connection. Its definitely more of an evening dress but with the right layering and accessories, it works for everyday too. I like to think of this as my seasonally appropriate ‘day to night’ look - so I could head to a bar and throw off the jumper, but still look like I fit in at any parties this season. ps - these boots are also the most comfortable thing in the world and only cost £30 so definitely worth investing in!
