We’ve all seen the extravagant doughnuts on social media, it would be hard not to. The mint green decor and floating doughnut sign make it hard to walk past Doughnut Time and not grab yourself a bite. Whenever I’ve walked past, there are always a few tourists and bloggers snapping away (and I like to think I found it before the hype..).
The chain is originally from Australia but has popped up in the likes of Notting Hill and Old Street with the most OTT doughnuts you’ve ever seen. Whether they are topped with percy pigs, kinder eggs or various other treats - each doughnut makes my mouth water. Every day there is a similar variety with limited edition flavours popping in and more vegan option than I’ve seen elsewhere.
I guess that is what makes an Instagram must visit, isn’t it? A lick of pastel paint, extravagant products and a touch of ‘instagram goals‘.. deliciousness helps! My only flaw to Doughnut Time is that you can’t actually sit in to eat. Although its also a bonus because you’re not waiting years for a table and I often end up wandering over to a local coffee shop and nibbling my doughnut alongside a caffeine fix (or three). I’ll also warn you that they are slightly pricey at £4 per doughnut but the size and taste make it worth it.. and the fact you can take a million pictures if you wait long enough to eat it.
So let’s chat about the doughnuts a little because I’ve tried a few and have to admit, I’m impressed. I was pleasantly surprised by how many vegan options are available but I guess when you’re based in central London (and in one of the most hipster neighbourhoods), then you have to cater to the masses! I tend to eat a plant based diet for the most part as I’m lactose intolerant AND vegetarian. Its nice to know that there are so many choices for everyone depending on your diet, allergies or intolerances.
My favourite on the menu is the “Houston we have Biscoff”, which is a vegan delight with coffee and caramel flavours and a biscoff biscuit on top.
If you live in london or happen to be visiting, I definitely recommend popping by for a doughnut and grabbing a quick picture for the ‘gram. You won’t regret it! I could easily work my way across the shelf trying them all.. which ones have you tried?

I wish more places outside of London, sold Vegan food, as although I’m not Vegan I cannot eat dairy and really struggle when out and about x
