Moving to London was like a fresh start and I decided to use it as a time to not only explore a new city, but to really invest in myself again. I’ve been drinking more water, upgrading my skincare routine, looking into yoga classes and overall just thinking about my personal wellbeing.
In a 2016 Pinterest study it was proven that 59% of us want to make positive changes to our lifestyle as soon as September hits.. and I’m one of them. Essentially giving myself a little life overhaul and sharing my healthier life choices with Robinsons.
The main step was refreshing my diet, choosing to cook meals from scratch instead of the quickest hunger fix possible. Working from home helps quite a lot when it comes to my food choices because I have a little more time to cook.
One of my favourite brunch ideas is granola with berries and yoghurt (very blogger, I know). It takes around 10 minutes to make and gives me energy for the rest of the day. I normally have it with a Robinsons Refresh’d too because the flavours are great together. I’ll be honest in saying that I prefer flavoured drinks to water. At only 55cal per bottle, these are super refreshing whether I’m at my desk or on the go. They are a mix of spring water and real fruit and 100% naturally sourced ingredients. They come in three flavours: apple & kiwi, raspberry & apple and orange & lime. Robinsons has been a family favourite since I was little, with Summer Fruits being a weekly purchase - and I guess the love has carried on into my adult life!
The London move means that I’ve ditched my car too, falling into the step of city life. The underground has been a pretty consistent form of transport but I’m actively trying to walk/cycle the extra stop. The Boris bikes are only £2 for 24hrs and you can pick up/drop off around the city. Its the perfect way to explore a little more and exercise instead of getting the tube.
There is a bike station at the end of our road so I’ve been grabbing a bottle of Refresh’d, my favourite plimsoles and making the most of the last sunny mornings by cycling to meetings. I’m getting confident with riding on the London roads too. Its so much more relaxing to listen to your thoughts on a bike, giving me more chance to reflect and appreciate the city. I also love that I don’t need to wear my gym kit for a ride. I can hop on in my everyday clothes and just head to my next destination! (Skirts not advised unless you want to give everyone a flash..).
Have you considered a positive change this Autumn?
I moved to London around a month ago too and I’ve been feeling the same as you with regards to focusing more on wellbeing. I didnt think that the rumours were true, that city living could have such an effect on our mental health, but it really is true.

Now I’m back at uni and getting back to early mornings, all day lectures, then working nights and weekends, I feel like I need to make a healthier change to my lifestyle!
