Vivienne’s First Outing.

Before I start this post, let me tell you that I’m not really one for designer. Not popular designer at least. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Gucci ‘blogger bag’ as much as the next person but I don’t have a desire to own one for myself. Its taken me a while to accept that I’m not one for trends and I have quite a casual, minimal style that is unique to me and totally okay (but more of that on another post).

This Vivienne Westwood is actually my first ever designer bag and one that I’d lusted after for years. I remember back in university when my Vivienne Westwood obsession began and I’d always flick through the new collections thinking about what I’d buy if I had the money, but alas. I’m still a student at heart and to be honest, I’m still not financially stable enough to splash my money on clothes or accessories. My boyfriend and I are in the process of moving into our own apartment, I’m finding my feet as a full time blogger and generally just petrified of the big ‘what if freelancing doesn’t pay the bills’ world.. so a designer handbag hasn’t been high on my list of priorities.

But back to the outfit.. this is the Anglomania Dorset bag, one of the more classic Vivienne Westwood handbags in a glossy black patent with gold hardware and a unique shape. I love it. Its got the Vivienne sass to it with a very British appeal. Maybe thats why whenever I carry this around, my walk gets a little sassy and my confidence changes - its weird how a bag can make you feel differently about yourself isn’t it?

Now my styling on this occasion is slightly Autumnal because I’d forgotten about the heatwave in England. I draped the leather jacket over my shoulders for pictures but most of the time it was just over my arm so I didn’t overheat. It kind of completes the outfit though doesn’t it? Making it much more of a ‘look’ rather than just a white top and jeans.
