Jewellery is something that comes with a meaning however obvious or hidden that meaning might be. Whether its a ring for your 5th birthday from the Grandparents or a pair of earrings to celebrate your graduation from university - its always a gift from someone and never just to yourself because ‘hey I’m fabulous and deserve to treat myself’. I can still remember growing up and admiring my Grandmas jewellery, wishing I could have my own collection so beautiful. Sifting through her jewellery box and listening to her stories about where each necklace or brooch came from. I guess my magpie tendencies came from her because I can’t stop adding to my collection and can’t wait to have a beautiful antique style jewellery box of my own like (this one).
JewelStreet is an independent jewellery website perfect for unique pieces with over 600 designers. Each piece is different and the attention to detail is clear. Its the perfect place to find something special for yourself or for someone special. A piece can still have a meaning if it was brought by you, for you. The pieces range from £29 to £500,000 but with a unique Concierge service, you can tailor your search to fit your budget, desired metal and more. All of the jewellery in this post is from JewelStreet and after browsing the website for hours, I picked a few pieces which mean something to me. The first being the beautiful Africa ring from Cape Town designer Black Betty Design. You all know by now that Adi is South African so this ring is like a little piece of him. The size is perfect and I love the minimal design, very fitting as a statement alongside smaller pieces such as the plain gold band and Bella tri ring from SB London. which are great for wearing all at once, or if I just want something simple. The necklaces have meaning, as well. The moon pendant, crafted by Argent of London, symbolises that no matter where I am in the world my family will always be looking at the same sky. While the personalised circle pendant from Posh Totty Designs with the simple words ‘let go’ is to remind me that if it wont matter in a few months, it shouldn’t matter as much right now.
