Over the last couple of months I’ve been giving my skin a well deserved break, opting against make-up on most days and favouring natural skincare to help unclog my pores and give me back the blemish free face that I once had. My skin seemed to hit a phase this year where it had enough and decided to erupt - possibly down to coming off birth control (accidental, I’m going back on it) but it also could be climate changes, stress or a number of other things.
So with that all in mind, I used Croatia as my testing ground for change. I took minimal makeup with me and decided to embrace being natural. In total my base was only applied maybe a handful of times and usually consisted of concealer and bronzer only with foundation remaining untouched. I honestly just didn’t care for wearing makeup, I liked being able to rub my eyes and throw myself into the water at any given moment without worrying about panda eyes or clogged pores. I liked being completely free.
I can almost see you nodding at the screen in agreement because most of us gals wear some form of ‘base’ every day. Even though we know that our faces need a breather, we just keep caking it on and hoping for the best.. but how great does it feel to embrace your natural look?
Now you guys already know that beauty blogging isn’t my thing so I’ll give it my best shot, right?
So with the bare face happening, I focused my attention on natural skincare. I wanted something that would improve my skin without attacking it with nasty chemicals and I came across the Garnier green tea leaves range. Boasting 96% natural origins, the products are silicone, paraben and artificial colouring free with purifying powers - essentially everything I’d been looking for.
The range consists of a toner, face wash and moisturiser costing under £6 each. To be honest, Garnier has always been a favourite of mine so I knew these would be fab before I’d tried them and they exceeded expectations. The face wash is super gentle and foams up nicely on my face, leaving it feeling refreshed. The toner feels a little more like its working on my skin, helping to unclog my pores and sort any blemishes. The moisturiser is essentially the finishing touch, mattifying and giving my skin a little hydration.
After trying them out for six weeks, I think its safe to say that I’ll be purchasing these again once they run out. I’m also intrigued by the other ranges within ‘SkinActive‘ as the price is so great and I know they work wonders!
The products are all part of an offer in Boots with selected Garnier SkinActive products being 2 for £5. Thats less than the price of one solo product (not sponsored, just lovin’ the range).
Ooh thanks for this, I love Garnier products too and these sound perfect! Your attitude to makeup and going natural is completely the same as me! I love not wearing makeup and summer is the only time I can really get away with it (sun seems to do good things to my skin & a tan makes the redness less noticeable!) and these products sound a great way to keep the natural streak going!
