When it comes to designer purchases, I’m still the girl that spends hours justifying why I need to spend so much money on one item - mentally planning outfits to justify the spend. I guess it’s the student in me because so many years of my early adulthood were spent broke. I was trying to be Carrie Bradshaw and saw my bank account weep too many times. It was always a tough transaction - even if the items were worn continuously.
You’ll probably know by now that I’m trying to work on curating my wardrobe down to being more timeless. My focus is on quality pieces that I will wear a lot of rather than just on quick trends and smaller price tags. This has led me to plenty of internet browsing. I’ve become quite the designer scrimper and managed to save the pennies without opting for second hand pieces.
One of my scrimping finds led me to Brand Alley, a free members only discounted designer site. They specialise in flash sales and offer up to 80% off quality brands and a designer outlet for a bigger selection. As a member, you receive emails letting you know about the deals coming soon. Its honestly so exciting to watch the countdown tick over while you shop. I’ve been using the site for a few weeks now and already nabbed a couple more bargains. I can’t wait to share them, but for now lets talk about this outfit.
At the moment one of the biggest deals is on Michael Kors handbags. I couldn’t resist this structured ‘jetsetter’ tote after wanting a similar style for ages. The subtle gold hardware compliments the tan colour of the leather perfectly, as well as being a great accessory to the tassled Hudson loafers which will work with so many outfits across the seasons (chunky knit and some washed out jeans, yes please). The loafers had a saving of £60 so a steal when I’ll be wearing them lots!
Now with the tan accessories I had to pick the perfect look. Free People is my go-to brand for boho style pieces and this jumpsuit is a dream. Personally I think that Summer 2017 is going to be big for prints so I went for a bold daisy print that will look great with sandals and a straw hat as well as layered with a leather jacket and some ankle boots in the Autumn.. or as I’ve styled it right now with loafers. I love the wide leg and bardot neckline as its super flattering even on a shorter girl!
