Oversized and Under Dressed.

Sometimes outerwear kills your outfit vibe but when the chill is too much, its all about the layering and oversized scarves are the perfect option..

Lets start this post with a little ‘first world problems’ because my hair has now changed a LOT (cue instagram stalks) so the next few posts will be slightly mixed as some will be the hair you know me with and others will be newly dyed princess hair while I blend into my most recently shot content. I mean, this definitely isn’t a problem but I like everything to be uniform and its stressed me a little.. lol.

Anyway, enough hair chat because we need to speak about my (slightly) silly outfit choice on the coldest day of 2017 so far. I know I’m a bit crazy because its minus numbers outside and too cold to even tie your hair up (nothing is worse than frozen ears) but honestly? I’m so bored of wearing coats and decided to wrap up a little differently and some days its more enjoyable to grab the biggest scarf you can find and team it with a chunky cardigan, even if the weather disagrees.

Cardigans are an old friend of mine and oatmeal, neutral tones make a nice change from my usual monochrome. I picked this one up in the New Look sale for £11 and its so cosy that it rarely gets put back in the wardrobe. I’ve since decided that I need a couple more chunky cardi’s for cooler days because not only do they make a great alternative to outerwear - they also look great underneath as an extra layer if you’re looking for something a little more styled up.
The scarf was actually a present from my little sister and she did very well because chunky scarves are something I don’t tend to buy but always wear. It made the best addition to this look and to be honest, I dressed for style rather than warmth because obviously fashion comes first. No, I take that back, I’m always cold so warmth definitely comes first. Either way - the scarf gives the outfit a little splash of colour (while keeping slightly muted) and made a great addition to what is otherwise just ‘a cardi, tee and jeans’ - my staple outfit but definitely not too interesting for you guys when you see it on repeat..
