I feel like recently there has been a slight influx in travel content on Copper but hopefully you're enjoying this little change? I feel like as this blog is an extension of me, it should go wherever I do and talk about everything that interests me at that given time.
As you guys have seen on my instagram, my trip to Paris was quickly followed by a trip to South Africa. Its a country that I’d always wanted to visit but never found the time or travel companion but last month I decided enough was enough. My trip was only four days long which isn't nearly enough time but I thought I'd let you know what I got up to so you can realise how beautiful the country is and how much you need to go!
During my trip, we spent two days in the beautiful Sun City resort which is located in the North West Province. Sun City has pretty much everything you could want from a resort with several hotels and chalets, casino, shops, restaurants, a water park, golf course and even a game reserve (which I might do a post about another time). We didn't make full use of the facilities but enjoyed the Valley of the Waves and game reserve during our stay!
The hotel we stayed at within the resort was The Cabanas which is right in the modern little gem in the middle of the resort. Room prices start from £100 with various room styles to choose from. Our room was a double overlooking the gardens through a complete glass wall for maximum lighting. The rooms are really well presented with bright decor. I quite liked that the bathroom was through sliding doors and had a separate shower/toilet so it was a little more open. I'm a sucker for a great hotel room layout and the Cabanas was one of my favourites with a really comfortable bed and high-speed wifi which is essential.
During the day we headed out to the Valley of the Waves which is the Sun City water park featuring a few water slides and a wave pool. Its a great place for all ages and everything is fairly close together so you can do it all in an afternoon. There is also a bar and restaurant so you could spend an entire day in there without needing to leave. In the morning we had a huge buffet breakfast with everything from cold meats and waffles to a full english. It was a great selection and meant we filled up before a long day at the game reserve spotting animals.
Admittedly, I wish we had a little more time to explore Sun City properly but it was a really relaxing stay and meant that we got some quality time together enjoying the sunshine and various things to do around the resort. My video including Sun City will be live during the week so you can check out what we got up to.. or head to 'worldmeetstwo' on instagram for the pictures.
Thank you to Sun City for our stay!
