Who knew staying central could be so affordable, and so high tech?
The Hub got it right first time..
Hub is the new love child of Premier Inn, offering stylish urban hotels in the best locations around London. I was lucky enough to be asked if worldmeetstwo would like to review a room at their new Westminster location and obviously couldn’t say no. The hotel is located right next to St James’ Park tube station and a stones throw from most of London’s main sights - perfect if you want to explore the area or if you need to be central for whichever reason. There is 5 Hub hotels around London including one in Edinburgh.
The hotel is really stylish and modern with machines to check you in and register your room cards, as well as being able to control your hotel room from your smartphone via the hub app (heating, lights and tv) or via control panels at either side of the bed. Being able to use my smartphone to do so much was really handy and meant that my lazy morning brain didn’t have to do much.
Our room was one of the ‘bigger rooms’ meaning it was a little more spacious and definitely big enough for the two of us. There was a lot of storage in the room with an under-bed suitcase compartment, large drawer and double rail for hanging clothes up. It really helped for keeping the room tidy because living out of a suitcase can be messy. The bed was really comfortable and spacious with soft pillows and a big duvet to cosy up under with the TV opposite with free movies and plenty of channels to keep you entertained.
Downstairs was the lounge which reminded me of a stylish, cosy living room with a tablet at each table that let you access the internet and had apps to give you information about London and tube maps, deliveroo and other useful things you’d need. I really liked that they had a simple menu of grilled sandwiches, soups and drinks as well as unlimited Costa coffee and tea (very handy when you’re up early). We actually sat in the lounge for a while so I could do some work and it was very relaxing and homely as well as having breakfast here in the morning which is £4 per person and is your typical continental.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hub hotel and definitely think I’ll be making the most of the hotels whenever I’m in town. Prices start from £59 per night and their central location makes it the perfect stop-over for a London trip.
