As soon as I book a summer holiday, my first thought is swimwear with my browser history turning into a beach-worthy list of bikinis and cover ups. Normally this routine takes months of trying different shapes and styles to find the one that doesn’t make me look bigger, but this year was the first time that my shape hasn’t bothered me. I’ve realised that its okay not to have boobs, or for a little fluff to be over my abs and I should be able to have fun with friends and strut around feeling gorgeous. Of course, having a gym routine definitely helped with confidence
After speaking to friends, its become clear that most of us girls dislike our lower stomachs and muffin tops. I always find that high waisted clothes make me look and feel slimmer and now that high waisted bikinis are a trend, its easier to cover up and look good. These Jasper Conran bottoms were the perfect find for me, wearing them on the first day of my MedSailors trip for confidence and adding my pyjama top for extra cover to protect my lobster-prone skin. Everyone worries about stripes giving the appearance of a wider waist, but the split panels on these with the stripe direction makes them slimming - and covering the parts you want to keep away.. perfect!
