When it comes to hotels, Josh and I are always searching for something luxurious or a little quirky, spending a little more to get something better than ordinary. There is nothing nicer than feeling relaxed in a bedroom that is possibly nicer than your own.
Last weekend we decided to have a mini-break fairly close to home in Windsor. Its a gorgeous town full of character within a half hour drive, so exploring it further was something we wanted to do. Our accommodation of choice was The Castle Hotel, overlooking Windsor Castle with a heritage feel and fresh renovation. The front of the hotel looks worthy of 5 stars in central London and inside is very modern with vintage, British touches.
We chose the superior double room which was slightly better than the standard double but cheaper than a suite which we didn't really need because we were only there for one night.
The room was spacious and modern with a large double bed. As we spent the morning lounging round, the tea and coffee selection and fluffy bath robes were enjoyed. The bed was also really comfortable and it felt like I was in a little cloud, giving me a great nights sleep.
With regards to food, we had our breakfast included in the price and it was amazing! There was a cold selection buffet with foods such as pastries, organic yoghurts, fruit, meats and cereal as well as a hot foods menu to order from. The selection on there was also great but Josh and I opted for the english breakfast (although he had my meats).
Overall, this hotel is one that I would definitely head back to. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and the room was gorgeous. We left feeling completely relaxed and well fed.
