Oh, hi there. It has been a long time since I sat down to write a post. Picking up my online presence has been harder than you’d think recently. Being a blogger gives the automatic assumption that I can pump out content like a crazy workaholic and permanently have words flowing but thats definitely not the case. Writing posts can be a struggle and it often feels like nobody actually cares about what I have to say. Lets be honest, I don’t get a stack of retweeted posts or recommended to your mums friends daughter.. but I’m working on it. For now we’re going to lighten the mood and talk about some new addictions and old favourites. You know, keeping it real. The post about the above rambles is coming soon.. I’ve spent weeks feeling like such a moaning myrtle and feeling sorry for myself and the cause is genuinely a social media app. Ridiculous isn’t it. It might sound like a giant millennial moan but with the nature of my job, it’s difficult not to get sucked into the numbers game (or the instagram algorithm) and feel as though nobody likes you because of a few numbers on a phone screen. Instagram is quite a touchy spot for bloggers at the moment with instagram algorithm and other factors messing with follower engagement (and ultimately, our business). It sometimes feels like an endless battle when your quality improve and you’re actively being nice to others but see no real ‘reward’ from something that used to give you a sense of instant gratification. Andddd the flares that have replaced by super skinnies! If you saw my Topshop haul recently, you might have already seen these amazing trousers but they are a great new addition to my wardrobe. So much so, I’m thinking there might be a ‘ways to style’ video coming soon. Fancy one?? The seventies has been a regular trend throughout Autumn and Winter, usually through colour and print. This season the flares took a limelight and I can’t get enough. This particular pair are a version of the Topshop Jamie jeans and fit like a dream. I love their easy styling options and already have wishlists growing that is dotted throughout this post for you to browse. JavaScript is currently…
Its that time of year again where the jokers like me decide to buy the most hideous Christmas jumpers we can find.. then proceed not to take them off for a week straight. Yuuuup, I’m that person. This jumper is actually very tame fairisle print as my tacky ones hadn’t turned up before filming. You’ve been let off lightly. Thank you Sam for lending me your jumper. When you’ve got a busy day with too many events, sometimes its nice to wear the same outfit (near enough) from day to evening. Its much easier than a complete outfit change, and thats what this video is for. I wanted to share a simple way to transform a Christmas jumper from daytime to smart-casual with just a change of shoes and touch of lipstick. Alsoooo, if you’re in the festive mood then I have compiled a little Christmas jumper wishlist for you…
Apologies, this post doesn’t come with outerwear so a warning should be applied if you’re living in England right now. It does, however, come with a side of wit and mince pies (optional – you need to supply these yourself). WHERE HAS THE WARMTH GONE? I thought last week was chilly but this weekend it has become icicle city. Even with three layers (including thermals), my entire body has goosebumps and I try my hardest not to leave the house. Like right now for example. I’m sat on a bloody freezing train (because they decided we need aircon not heating) and using my MacBook on my legs for some warmth. Even my coffee is cold. Okay, the weather rant is over now I promise. But just pretend that I’ve added a scarf and fairly warm coat to this look before trying it at home. #firstworldproblems much? Theres been a few…
Hello there.. aren’t you chuffed I’m back to regular posting? I had an accidental break due to some things happening but I’m now sat scheduling my life away so a post is never missed again. So far I’m as scheduled as mid-December 😉 Anyway, todays post is one that I’ve had planned for quite a while and I can’t wait to finally be sharing it with you. Today, its all about the two piece suit. Something that I’ve always wanted to style, but never felt confident or ‘cool’ enough to actually pull off. Theres a certain je ne sais quoi about women in suits and this Autumn I couldn’t resist trying a couple in a style thats true to me: casual, easy to wear everyday and 60% monochrome! LOOK ONE The first look is strongly focused on accessories and features this gorgeous black satin tux style suit from Dorothy Perkins.…
I’ve got an instagram stories addiction and we need to discuss it. Also.. you got me. These pictures were taken around a fortnight ago when the weather wasn’t so arctic and bare legs were still a regular feature. Goodbye for now my tanned pins, you’ll be missed. But as much as I want to sit and discuss bare leg season and the wasted self tan sessions to keep my legs bronze for ‘just incase’ – this post is actually about my new found love for Instagram stories and the impact they’ve had on my app usage around the board. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Stories is the best feature in my phone right now. Literally my most used and viewed thing of the moment. I love being able to give a little more of myself to my perfectly curated feed. Sharing little…
Feel like you’re not good enough at work? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. AND ITS OKAY. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Sometimes I feel like I’m going nowhere and as I’m sat writing this post, that is exactly how I feel. I feel like I’m not good enough at work. I’m stuck and overwhelmed and completely snowed under with the amount of work that I need to do. I’ve got blogposts that are half written, pictures that aren’t edited and invoices to send and despite feeling like I’m a failure – doing these things seems like a task too big. Its funny isn’t it. The very reason I’m stressed and overwhelmed is because I’ve got so much to do but its ultimately effecting my drive to do these things. I have been sat on my bed for four hours now…

We all love a good twitter rant about how we feel about a new picture getting less likes but one of my favourite topics of the moment is whether Instagram is replacing blogging. Whenever I speak to other bloggers, PRs or even friends who just ‘gram their night out or dinner for the day, everyone has a different spin on the future. I could go on forever about the various parts of the blogging community that are changing but this seemed like a natural place to start by discussing if blogging is dead at the hands of Instagram. The app we all love to hate. As a blogger of 4 years, Instagram was a newer addition to the game.…
Blogging isn’t something that has always been considered as a job. If we take a peek back to 2013 when Copper Garden first started, blogging couldn’t generate an income and was purely a community of likeminded people posting their outfits and beauty purchases online. I had my blog purely as a form of procrastination and a way to document my outfits, as did many other girls. To this day it still baffles me that the day I decided to create a website was the day that I unknowingly created myself a job for the future. Crazy right? I have now been a blogging full time for a year and as much as I wouldn’t change it for the world, the last couple of months, I’ve been thinking about what being a ‘full time blogger’ means to me. Every time someone asks me how I managed to take my blog to…
Hats are something you either suit, or you don’t. You know sometimes you see a girl that just suits every style? Beanie, cap, floppy, baker boy.. you name it and she suits it. I want to be that girl. The baker boy hat used to remind of Peaky Blinders or Victorian guys in the mines (I can’t be the only one that loved looking at the pictures rather than listening in History class?!). But recently the baker boy hat become a style that we’re all wearing and one that can take an outfit from a solid 5 to an 8/10. Its kind of like a replacement for the fedora which has been exhausted over previous seasons. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Now this particular baker boy hat comes from Amazon with a leather strap buckled around the front and a really cosy…
