The Journey To Better Skin | Part One.

I airbrush my skin. Yep, I said it. I smooth my face over in pictures to remove every blemish because my skin is something I’ve always struggled with. I don’t get angry breakouts like some people, but the odd blemishes and redness get to me so much that I tend to smooth out every picture that I post of myself online. Not over edited, but enough so you can’t tell that I’ve got a few little bumps. Hopefully that’s all about to change.. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Lets talk about my skin because.. well, isn’t that what this post is about? Throughout my teenage years there was barely a blemish on my face but as I got older and my stress levels grew in university – so did my breakouts. My problematic areas are my forehead, across my cheekbones and down…

Tips For Growing Your Instagram Organically.

Instagram growth has been a difficult thing for a while now. The algorithm might have messed us around a little but there is a few ways that you can keep top of your game and engage your followers more than usual. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed my Instagram growth and engagement has improved and thought I’d share my tips with you.. I do want to stress before starting that your follower count does not determine your worth as a blogger. I mean, granted if you have 100k on Instagram then you’ve got a bigger reach than someone with only 30k but ultimately, engagement matters the most. Whats the point of having all of those people following you when barely any of them like or comment on your posts!? I’d rather build a small community that enjoy the content I’m creating, than have a number of followers and feel like I’m…

Frilled Hems and Rain.

I’m not sure why it surprised me that it rained in England, but I definitely didn’t expect to be layering up my outfits with knitwear before September hits. And I’m pretty sure the last couple of years have been warm through until October!? ps – these pictures are pre-hair dye and will be for another couple of posts! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. This jumpsuit is something I’d never normally have gone for but I love it. It was actually picked up for a wedding that I went to and even though black is almost a wedding sin, styled with the right accessories and shoes – it could definitely pass the test. But besides that, it’s a great style for everyday. I’m mentally planning ways that it can be worn into the Autumn in various layers and this look is one because…

Vivienne’s First Outing.

Before I start this post, let me tell you that I’m not really one for designer. Not popular designer at least. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Gucci ‘blogger bag’ as much as the next person but I don’t have a desire to own one for myself. Its taken me a while to accept that I’m not one for trends and I have quite a casual, minimal style that is unique to me and totally okay (but more of that on another post). This Vivienne Westwood is actually my first ever designer bag and one that I’d lusted after for years. I remember back in university when my Vivienne Westwood obsession began and I’d always flick through the new collections thinking about what I’d buy if I had the money, but alas. I’m still a student at heart and to be honest, I’m still not financially stable enough to splash my money on…

Bringing Back The Cardigan.

The cardigan, oh how I’ve missed you. The added warmth of a jumper but giving more option to layer. The cosy, chunky knit that adds more to an outfit and keeps you warmer than London Underground in summer. (okay too far, not that warm). I pretty much forgot that I owned this cardigan until my Grandma handed it back to me this week. Since then, I’ve barely taken it off. You know when you have that knitwear you just keep coming back to!? This is totally it. And it cost me under £20. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. After a lot of Pinterest browsing, I decided to try a different kind of style and wrap my belt around the outside of my outfit. Its a style I never really thought to try before but I kind of love it. The length of…

The Sportwear Edit.

Whether you’re staying at home or heading somewhere a little warmer, working out in the summer can be a sweaty business. And finding summer gymwear can be even harder. Being back in the UK has given an extra sweat to my workouts on the odd hot day. My once daily swim in the sea has turned into a humid run around the town and the workout wardrobe has had to adjust too – because who wants to run in a bikini!? Unfortunately I can’t get to the gym as much as I’d like until I’m settled in my new home. I’m fully enjoying at-home workouts and going for a daily run to keep my body healthy. If you want to keep up, I do have a fitness Instagram account to track my fitness journey and as soon as I’m in the new place, my gym membership will be renewed (obviously).…

Is It Time To Give Up On Summer?

Yep, midway through August and I’m throwing it out there because our Summer seems to be over. Or at least over for the most part because I’ve worn slightly more clothing and found myself snuggled in jumpers of an evening. Basically – it just isn’t boiling hot and beautiful any more. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. This outfit is coming to you from South Africa because lil old me was so prepared that I got some transitional content a few months early. I say prepared, its actually just because we were there in “Winter” so some days it got quite chilly. They seemed quite silly to post mid-summer which is why I’ve held off until now.. My legs are going to remain bare for as long as possible so being cosy in different ways is a must. I love nothing more than a…

How To Spend A Long Weekend in Barcelona.

Okay, I know that I travel a lot and rarely do actual guides to the places but this is all about to change. I’ve decided to stop giving you a bazillion outfit posts and start focusing on sharing my life with you. My beauty essentials, places I love, whats on my mind, etc etc etc. As we’re now fresh out of Barcelona content (for this trip at least), it seemed fitting to share exactly how I spent 72 hours in the beautiful city and a few tips I picked up! Before I get into what we got up to, I need to tell you to download MyTaxi and CityMapper. MyTaxi is basically Uber and works in exactly the same way but its much cheaper than just waving a cab down on the street and CityMapper is great for navigating public transport whether you’re in Barcelona, London, Paris.. etc. Day One – The Evening We landed…

There’s Meaning Behind The Metal.

Jewellery is something that comes with a meaning however obvious or hidden that meaning might be. Whether its a ring for your 5th birthday from the Grandparents or a pair of earrings to celebrate your graduation from university – its always a gift from someone and never just to yourself because ‘hey I’m fabulous and deserve to treat myself’. I can still remember growing up and admiring my Grandmas jewellery, wishing I could have my own collection so beautiful. Sifting through her jewellery box and listening to her stories about where each necklace or brooch came from. I guess my magpie tendencies came from her because I can’t stop adding to my collection and can’t wait to have a beautiful antique style jewellery box of my own like (this one). Four Transitional Lipstick Shades You Need For This Season.

I know its only the beginning of August but with the gloomy weather and slight chill in the air, its starting to feel more like Autumn.. one of my favourite times of year. With the changing season, my natural look is being replaced with a slightly more made-up one and the darker shades are starting to come out. I think the colder weather just makes doing make-up a bit more fun because its got less chance of sliding off your face! This post is going to feature my four ‘must have’ lipstick shades for the transitional period – just to keep you ahead of the trends (ofc). If you’ve browsed any glossy magazines or even just social media recently, you’ll know that two of the big beauty trends for Autumn 2017 are berry tones and of course, the earthy neutrals. Both of which happen to be my absolute favourites for the season. I…

Lets Chat About Blog Photography And Community Changes.

“They f*ck you up, your Mum and Dad. They don’t mean to, but they do.” A grafitti quote referencing a poem by Phillip Larkin that really got me thinking about society. About the blogging community. The group of individuals that come together by default when they hit publish on the first post. This post could flutter off in so many directions so I apologise if this is a little hard to follow.. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. I couldn’t tell you when I actually started my blog but I know that its been a few years. It was a hobby that took away from my studies and allowed me to express my creativity that turned into my full time job almost a year ago. It still is a hobby that I enjoy more than anything, but I’m lucky enough to call it my career now…
