Things I Learnt The First Time I Travelled Solo.

Here I am, one solo trip down and deciding to write a post about it after documenting the entire trip on YouTube.  Here I am, one solo trip down and deciding to write a post about it after documenting the entire trip on YouTube. Anyone who has been on a holiday by themselves will tell you that its the best thing they ever did and I didn’t believe it until I was having the time of my life flying round a greek island on a quad bike with new friends and a new sense of adventure. I was the most terrified person when I started this trip, so if I can do it then anyone can. Heres some of the things I learnt while travelling solo for the first time.. Its way less scary than you thinkThe thought of being in a different country alone is daunting but its not as bad as…

FINDING RELAXATION | SPA BREAK AT WHITTLEBURY HALL.

Spa weekends are the ultimate girl time and a great way for Tash and I to feel 16 again and have a much needed catch up as well as finding a piece of relaxation in our crazy busy lives – or as Tash calls it, feeling zen.. Whittlebury Hall is a beautiful stately home located near Silverstone, set in the countryside with nothing but birds to listen to. We stayed in a really lovely modern space overlooking the grounds with twin beds, small living room set up a desk area as well as a television across from the beds. I couldn’t fault the room at all, it was more than big enough for the two of us and we spent a lot of time relaxing in there between trips downstairs to the spa. The spa is separated into two areas, the leisure club and the heat and ice experience. We headed into the leisure club…

Summer Festival Essentials.

With the season nearly over I’m holding on and doing everything in my power to avoid the Autumn. This summer held so many memories and I’ve enjoyed every minute of experiencing new things like heading to Reading Festival (because Fall Out Boy are my childhood dream). Despite my day-long festival spurt, I thought I’d talk about a few of my festival essentials and preparations for anyone going to Bestival or thinking about any music events for next year, because I certainly am. As far as an outfit goes, a playsuit is an easy choice because they look great and keep you cool, teamed with a fringed bag for the ultimate festival outfit. Oh, and the most important accessory is the sunglasses. Partly so you can actually see the acts through the occasional sunshine and partly just to look cool. The ones shown are a little slice of Quay Australia heaven, aptly named All my…

Being Yourself After A Breakup & Being Okay About It!

It hast really been brought up on my blog yet but my boyfriend and I broke up a while ago. It was completely mutual but after almost six years, discovering who I am again and feeling confident alone has been a challenge. It sounds so dramatic but spending so long trying to keep someone else happy and not focusing on myself meant that naturally I became more reserved and spent less time with my friends. But lets not dwell on all of the negatives because the positive is huge – I’m very happy. JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. One Pair Of Jeans in Three Ways With River Island

I was recently contacted by River Island to see if I could style one pair of their jeans in three ways and being the queen of jeans, how could I say no! I decided to up the challenge and style the jeans for three different occasions; casual, work and evening. For this styling challenge, I chose the Lori high waisted skinny jeans which are a washed black with a cropped fit and high waist to give more petite girls like me a chance to look taller and the denim is really soft so its easy to move around in them. I’ve also kept my bag and shoes the same because nothing beats patent loafers and a slouchy suede number (thats under £40, by the way..). Everything shown in this post cost under £260 combined so its an affordable way to make three outfits easily! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it…

Things To Consider Before Going Travelling.

You’ve probably worked out by now that I’ve become a bit of a travel bug. I’ve gone from being content with one holiday a year to wanting to live on beaches, experiencing new cultures whenever theres an opportunity. You’ve probably worked out by now that I’ve become a bit of a travel bug. I’ve gone from being content with one holiday a year to wanting to live on beaches all year around, experiencing new cultures whenever theres an opportunity. Whilst lying on Bournemouth beach with Char a few weeks ago, we came up with a little plan for starting to travel which I thought was worth sharing because I’m already in a dream bubble where the world is my oyster and need to get back to reality for a while to make it all work.Travel BuddyFor me, the most important thing when I travel is making sure that I’ve got…

Advice For Keeping Stylish At Work.

Workwear can be tricky at the best of times so as a new starter it can be difficult to determine the kind of attire that is acceptable. Since I left university there has been a part of me that longed to get into a creative office environment so that I could rock my workwear style and finally I’m able to in my new job, so its time I shared my tips on keeping stylish at work..My main piece of advice would be to dress smarter than you think you should. The first few days are when you can see what others wear and there is nothing worse than turning up more casual than everyone else. I’m lucky enough to be able to dress in my everyday style which is much more relaxed than tailoring and suits and my main work outfits include jeans with smarter tops, but some days I prefer to…

THE SOUNDTRACK TO MY SUMMER.

Despite being lucky enough to be heading back to MedSailors in a few weeks, I love having the option of driving down to a British beach on the weekends and soaking up the sunshine with friends and cocktails to make some new memories before adulthood really begins. One of my summer essentials is definitely a portable speaker, providing me with endless dance parties and Sunday chills so there is always a background noise. The Libratone One Style is a newbie of mine which allows me to bluetooth Spotify from my phone for high quality sound so there is no faffing with downloads. The speaker comes in three colours (black, grey and turquoise) and features a soft rubber bumper with a hand loop to make it portable, lasting for 12 hours between charging which is ideal if you’re away over night. The Libratone One Style might not be the smallest of…

Annika Nail Polishes.

Neutral and muted nail polishes are pretty much all that I own at the moment. There is something elegant and classic about having your nails painted in toned which compliment rather than brighten your nails, and we all know that I’m a sucker for all white. Don’t get me wrong, I love a bright pink manicure as much as the next girl, but if its a shade that I want for everyday then nude is what I choose. Annika nail polishes are a recent discovery of mine, sitting under the brand Edge and launching recently. The Annika collection features 30 shades including nudes, brights and everything in between so there is something for any occasion that you feel needs a little colour. If I’m honest, the colour on my nails changes weekly but the nail polishes are only £3.50 which means I can stock up on various shades without spending…

Finding Your Staple Handbag.

JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Most people like to throw on whatever they find first when running errands and I’m definitely an exception to that.. kind of. I normally try and do my makeup so I feel slightly put together or just add a pair of sunglasses (partly to hide my face, partly to look cool). My throw on outfit will always be a white tee, black jeans and trainers which are more often than not my Roches, which are still clean white after months of wear. But this post doesn’t need to focus on an outfit that I pretty much live in, when the bag on my arm is the easiest slouch that I own and my everyday staple handbag. Radley contacted me a while ago and asked if I’d like to test out one of their bags and with the…

Wearing The Bardot Trend.

Striped Bardot Playsuit: Missguided Strapped Leather Sandals: Emu Australia Small Bag: New Look Whether it makes you happy that I’m heading back to regular content or not, my holiday pictures are over for this trip. I’m sad to be saying goodbye to the best trip ever but also privileged that I can head back again so soon and return to the beautiful Greek islands on 2nd September for even more good times with friends.  The bardot style of this playsuit is perfect for summer evenings when the sun is just going down and still giving your shoulders the chance to tan (too much in my case). I just think that off the shoulder clothing is so feminine and flatters those of us that aren’t so blessed in the boob area.. drawing attention towards your collarbones instead. As always, heres a list of my favourite bardot playsuits to save you browsing the internet..…
