Do you ever experience the days when you’ve got a bursting diary that requires a couple of dress codes with no time to change outfit? Yep, me too! This ‘day to night’ wrap dress look started with a breakfast event, leading on to a coffee-fuelled meeting and ending at the theatre with friends. Essentially – a day that needed more than one look with no time to go home in between. I ended up throwing some heeled boots in my bag and the overall look changed. And thats when this on-going series came to mind.
The wrap dress is a style thats been everywhere the last few months. Its a LFW staple and seems to feature on my Instagram feed on the daily. I’ve been loving for a while and this wrap dress from Wear All is the most versatile that I own and comes in 3 different colours (but obviously I chose black). The tie allows it to be fitted or loose depending on your style. It also helps to change the length a little if you’re a shortie like me. It retails at £24 which is such a bargain for a dress that suits each season in different styles and one I’ve already worn a lot!
I decided that during the day I’d wear my trusty pointed flat boots because comfort comes first when you’re rushing around the city. The suede contrasts nicely with the black wrap dress and my oversized grey coat from Weekday – all black outfits definitely call for a mix of textures. To be honest, the jacket was purely for ‘what if it rains’ purposes. It was mostly just thrown over my shoulders. This also lets the ruffled sleeves of the wrap dress be seen because they are pretty beautiful. I think the sleeves enhance the detail from the wrap and make it so much more than a LBD.
For the evening the jacket came off, dark lipstick went on and I switched up the accessories. Luckily everything I needed fit inside my daytime bag so I wasn’t carrying around too much at once. I decided to switch to my Steve Madden velvet boots for comfort, perfect if you’re not a heelskinda gal like me. Velvet is a big trend this season and it adds a little something to an LBD without taking the attention from it.
Overall, I’m pretty chuffed with the fact that I could transition this wrap dress from day to night without having to carry extra bags or switch an entire look. It always feels like such an achievement when you can carry more with less bags, amiright?! I think this WearAll wrap dress is now a safe bet for most occasions and a great easy-mixing option. If you can wear something from a coffee date and to a cocktail evening – when can’t you wear it!?
