I’ve made it no secret that my summer isn’t ending any time soon so I thought I’d give you a little peek into how I’m keeping my summer going strong here in the UK.
Sometimes you’ve just got to embrace the bare legs for as long as possible, even when its chilly outside and theres a 70% chance you’ll catch a cold. I’ve made it no secret that my summer isn’t ending any time soon so I thought I’d give you a little peek into how I’m keeping my summer going strong here in the UK.
For most girls the change in season means grabbing your winter clothes out of a suitcase in the loft and switching out your summer collection for a few months. I always wonder why I’m not this savvy with clothing but my preference is to keep everything timeless and not seasonal. I like to leave clothes hung in my wardrobe all year around and find ways to switch up as many outfits as I can for the new season..
The double top
That summer dress you lived in, or the perfect lace cami thats perfect for Autumn but too cold – keep them going through the next season. Autumn is a good time to experiment with layering and add t-shirts or long sleeved tops underneath and its a trend thats everywhere for this season.
Warmer styling choices
The denim skirt you wore with t-shirts all summer can be kept going by changing the styling options. I love a long sleeved top or fine knit jumper for the Autumn days which aren’t too cold and a chunky jumper or scarves and jacket for the morning chill.
Learn to love chunky scarves
I feel like scarves are very under-rated. They are the easiest way to wear a stylish outfit but wrap up warm. Primark has a great range this year, priced at £4-£10 so its a good time to stock up on plain or checked ones. You’ll notice in upcoming posts that scarves become a part of my wardrobe and get styled into outfits much more as the winter draws in.
Finally, she’s in Autumn-worthy clothing which I feel deserves some kind of applause (trust me, I didn’t go down without a fight). It took a while to accept the chill and get out the winter coats but the arrival of this pea coat made me want to wrap up every day and it was the perfect addition to the outfit.
My skirt in this look actually belongs to my friend Jess but as we live together and happen to be the same size, clothes never live in just one wardrobe in our house. It was a steal from Toyshop and the embroidered detail either side is so beautiful, giving so many colour options to styling. Its a trend that I didn’t think I’d really venture into but its become an Autumn staple that I keep buying into..
